RMIM Nations Archive

Suriname

RMIM worked in the nation of Suriname on their “Guianas Frontier Missions Excursion” in 2009. Christianity is almost completely non-existent in Suriname, however other religions are very much alive. Islamic Mosques and Hindu Temples dot the roadsides and interior of Suriname. Peace is strived for in Suriname, in fact so much so that the small Christian community has settled down and accepted what has happened to their nation. Many of the Surinamese people themselves (except for the Muslim population) are very friendly and open to hearing the Gospel, however, there is a lack of workers almost like we have never seen before in any nation on the side of Guyana. There is much Asian influence in Suriname as well, and the official language is Surinamese Dutch. Please pray for Suriname and consider doing a Missions Excursion to this nation yourself – who knows… God could use YOU to spark the first Revival that the nation has ever seen! While in Suriname, RMIM saw many results with the Prostitute and Drug-smuggler population. RMIM would like to return to Suriname in the future to establish a ministry presence there and preach the Gospel effectively.
